Pap Test (Pap Smear)
This test involves collecting a sample of cells from the cervix and examining them under a microscope to detect any abnormal changes. It helps identify precancerous or cancerous cells in the cervix.
HPV DNA Test
This test checks for the presence of high-risk types of the human papillomavirus (HPV) in cervical cells. HPV is the primary cause of cervical cancer. The test can be performed alone or in conjunction with a Pap test (co-testing).
Lugol's Iodine (VILI)
These are visual examination tests where a healthcare provider applies acetic acid or iodine solution to the cervix. Abnormal areas may appear white (with VIA) or brown (with VILI), indicating the presence of potentially precancerous or cancerous cells.

She has vast experience in the field of Histopathology and Cytopathology chiefly in reporting FNAC samples for the diagnosis of cancers of breast, thyroid, lymph nodes, liver lungs, head & neck cancers etc. She is an expert in Pap smear reporting, specially Liquid Based Cytology (LBC) smears. Her ‘Centre of Excellence’ has all facilities for cancer diagnosis under one roof which includes collection & reporting of FNAC samples, Pap smears, LBC samples, HPV- DNA testing, Colposcopy, histopathology, blood samples for various tests etc. She has organized >100 cervical cancer screening camps and has done extensive research in the field of Cervical Cancer Prevention specially in the rural areas.
